Beautiful large tea mug, handmade in an ultralight white clay, making the mug feather-light.
The style of the ceramics is simple and yet rustic, a perfect example of the Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂). A worldview centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".
The mugs are handmade by Japanese artist group Gallery Michinakaba, which also is a ceramic school teaching people how to throw.
